Points Needed to Win: 10
sinners

yes, this is after the billy joel song. You know
sure if ur with the saints then you've been doing
good. But id rather be with people i actually
enjoy being with and be doing something wrong.

sure, but im not saying to actaully do something
totally wrong, like killing someone. It's kinda
like if i was going somewhere. i wouldn't want to
look like a stiff and take a car there if its
raining, I would rather ride my bike through the
rain and get there however i am. I'd like to do
something completely unthought through and at
least be able to say "I did that"

But see, if you never do anything wrong, say
trespassing, then you never will know whats its
like to actually experience life to the fullest.
Its the thrill of actually getting into trouble,
knowing that you can do it. If you leave your
friends who are doing something wrong to find new
ones, then what kind of person are you? your
morals are so high that you can't stand to tarnish
your record.
if you only deal with the good people, then you
don't get the whole picture. People won't get to
know you and then they'll only think of ways to
torment you because your being so proud of
yourslef.

and everybody has sinned at least once, if we are
born with original sin. So, you're never perfect.
Why try to act like you are. You can only go so
far without doing anything wrong

I see your point, but it doesn't mean that
everything done is life threatening. you can't
just not do anything. you'll never find friends
who always participate in good clean fun. with my
friends, i'd say that were not that bad, maybe
we'll sneak into an R rated movie, but noithing
that extreme. If you never do anything wrong, then
you might end up as not wanting to do anything
risky or may be relunctant to try something new.
Then, your a CEO of a buisness, kudos, but you'll
never have time to do anything you ever really
wanted besides the 'good clean fun'. you'll die,
and what will you have to look at, a successful
buisnessman, with a degree. that's stuff's nice,
but then you wonder about what you missed out on.
even if your doing something stupid, then you can
learn from mistakes. Like if doing drugs got you
in trouble, it's a memory to look back on and you
can say, I did that, and it was the stupidest
thing i ever did.

I guess I'll cry with the saints - though what us chaps have to cry about, I don't know. : )

All right, I guess this song has created some sort
of controversy from what I have read. lol Mostly
because its premise is flawed.
I would rather cry with the saints. However, I
don't get what there is to cry about any more than
a sinner might. :P In fact, from the Biblical
standpoint, those whom are saved will be laughing
far more than the sinners come the rapture and
Armeggadon.
See, it's like this, I would rather cry than have
my morals and values corrupted in behaviour that
is wrong but classified as 'fun', but is really
likely ot land one in a heap of trouble.
This is the next thing, who will be laughing if
the wrong-doers are caught? Not the sinners who're
being punished. I'd rather be with the saints,
doing right and being happy (or sad, as the case
may be.)

See, this is where the premises is flawed. If you
are not doing anything wrong, you're not sinning.
Thus you can very well be a saint. Unplanned and
slightly rediculous doesn't make one a sinner, adn
crying doesn't make one a saint. Saints can have
fun and have the thrill of riding through the rain
or some such thing...
Even stealing a quarter is wrong - you don't have
to kill somebody. Trespassing, for example - we
all do it - but it isn't right. If your friends
are going to get you in trouble, then it's
probably better to not have the 'fun' they have
and instead find better friends with moral fun.
It all ties back to the definition of 'fun', too.
Saints can have as much fun as the next guy - it's
good, clean fun. I'm not saying sinners don't have
good clean fun, but the decisive difference is
that the sinner may not have clean fun while the
saint shouldn't have immoral fun.

What kind of person are you to hang around while
your friends are getting into trouble? If they're
smoking marijuana, are you going to do it, too?
Personally, I wouldn't wish to have friends who
will freely smoke something they know is extremely
bad, dangerous and illegal. If I had a friend who
does't, but tried it, i would do my best to
convince that friend not to - could be the choice
of his/her life.
You can influence your friends, but not as much as
they influence you. However, why hang out with
them in the first place if they're repetitively
doing something you know is wrong? That's bad news
- eventually you'll be doing it, too.
Is it really necessary to 'live your life to the
fullest' if it will corrupt your morals?
Compromise everything you know to be right?
Friends are there to be a positive influence and
provide good clean fun. They're not your life and
if they compromise your morals they really aren't
friends, are they? They're not looking out for
your best interests, or their own.
Yes, everybody has sinned or made mistakes, but
this doesn't mean you should intentionally do them
or repetitively do them.

and not a sinner.
